You can uninstall VirtaMove software using:
the uninstall feature of the VirtaMove installer if you are upgrading VirtaMove
Windows Control Panel
a silent uninstallation option
When you uninstall VirtaMove, containers, and container templates are not removed.
It's possible that a user might have customized the VirtaMoveFilter.xml file during the lifetime of the VirtaMove product. To ensure that the file is not unintentionally deleted when VirtaMove is uninstalled or upgraded, the VirtaMoveFilter.xml file is backed up to the VirtaMove Filters install directory:
C:\Program Files\VirtaMove\FiltersThe filename format of the backed up file is:
VirtaMoveFilter_<MM-DD-YYYY>_<HH-MM-SS>.xmlWhere MM is the month, DD the day, YYYY the year, HH the hour, MM minutes, and SS seconds, representing the time at which the file was backed up.
Run VirtaMove64-BitSetup.msi.
Click Next to uninstall the previous version and install the new version.
Click the Remove radio button, then click Next.
Click Remove.
Click Finish. Proceed with installation steps as described in Installing VirtaMove Software.
The executable program that interprets packages and installs products is Msiexec.exe.
Using the Quiet display option, the installer runs an uninstallation without displaying a user interface. Prompts, messages, and dialog boxes are not displayed to the user.
Click Start>Settings>Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs and select VirtaMove in the list.
Select the Remove option and then click Yes to confirm the action.
Click Yes to shut down and undock all containers.
Click Finish.
Notes:
You cannot use the silent uninstallation option to upgrade VirtaMove software from a minor to a major version (for example, from VirtaMove 6.0SP2 to 6.1).
The command prompt must be run as Administrator.
In a command prompt window, run one of the following commands:
